Another incredibly beautiful song, unmistakably a Laura Shigihara creation. I just go for this seamless blend of pop song vs. video game soundtrack. A breathtaking accomplishment!

This is one of my favorite songs by Laura. There is so much emotion behind it, like a sense of isolation, but also perseverance. I like how catchy it is!

about
This track was inspired by a 6-hour Minecraft session that happened during a time when I might have been trying to run away from the world. It's very special to me, so I hope you enjoy it.
lyrics
(verse 1)
I'm in a cube land
I dig with cold hands
I use these tools to try and climb out of this mess I've made
My door is open
Skeletons and zombies
I am broken, as they walk all over me
But if I keep on building walls, maybe they'll stay away
(pre-chorus)
Think fast, it's got to last if you're gonna make it through the rest of the day
I'm trapped, I can't go back, I've made the choice to stay
(chorus)
And we'll fight... keep defending through the night
(we'll fight the good fight)
Live... we're all driven to survive
(we'll fight the good fight)
I'll keep going, just stay by my side.
(verse 2)
I'm in a cube land
My castle's so grand
And once I lay these tracks I'll finally make my escape
I am no one
I have no place, no one relates
And there is no sun
As the night covers this space
But I beg you, please please don't let this life go to waste
(repeat pre-chorus and chorus)

Special thanks:
Dylan Librande (Ecliptichero) for spending hours patiently working with me to record all of the Minecraft footage for the music video (and the Librandes for having us over and being so cool), George Fan for filming some of the live footage and making sure Metroid didn't go too crazy, Justin Vu (mirrortundra) and Vincent Wang (DualPower) for lending us maps and helping with the battles, and Astragoth for encouraging me to finish the song. Oh, and Metroid, because he's in like half of the shots (completely of his own volition^^).
I have listened to this album probably like a million times now. It's my go-to music for when I'm working. The compositions are lovely and they remind me of how much I love Fleuret Blanc's story. Laura Shigihara
